Wow! That Rebel is a really beautiful camera - those interior auto show shots, I don't think I could pull off. Was that NAIAS?

Thanks a lot! Just need to find more exciting cars and locales to shoot... especially locales. I wonder how people at local car meets feel about this sort of thing...

I've thought about just showing up to a local car show, maybe with some business cards, and ask around if anybody want's some cool pics taken of their car. Just explain that you're still new and trying to build experience and a portfolio and that maybe your pics aren't yet good enough for Evo, but you're still learning. Show them some of your pics either printed or on a tablet. Arrange a time and place to meet up for say 30mins. No fees obviously and give them several or all of the finished shots. If you ask, say 50 people at a ca show, I bet at least a few will take you up on it.

Thanks! The photo was slightly touched over - I'm not happy with my camera's sensor quality.
Right now, my setup is a Nikon D40 with the stock 18-55mm f/3.5-f/5.6 lens, and then I have a telephoto 55-200mm. I want to try to borrow my friend's prime 50mm f/1.4 when I can get access to some different cars, though.
I gave you a follow - there are some nice unique angles in your shots. I love the new GT3 and the Quattro - is the Quattro CCC's?

That sounds like a good plan. Thanks for putting it up.
Especially maybe in my town - it's a smaller, cozier place, with a local Cars and Coffee that I think is a tight-knit group. I'm going to try that!

Thanks! And yes, the prime with the low F number is where it's AT. I shoot primarily with a 45mm f/1.4 on my Samsung NX300, but also have 16mm prime, 18-200mm OIS, 50-200 OIS, and the stock 18-50mm which I never use.
The GT3 is so sex. The Quattro is not CCC's, it's getting a refresh at Broken Motorsports in Union NJ.

Cool, let us know how it went. Also, how's your post processing game? These days that's almost as important as the in-camera work.

I would love to pony up for a prime with a low F-number, but I need to spend money on things like food first - which just makes me sad. That looks like a beautiful camera! I'm not familiar with the interchangeable-lens digital cameras - I would think one would just get a SLR. But then again, your lens selection.... phew. Any reason why you went for the NX300?
Also, how did you get your Deutsch plate?

Limited budged, needed something relatively lightweight, and it has massive connectivity capabilities. I'm able to pull up to 1000 photos from the camera to my phone wirelessly in about 10 minutes, which is really helpful when I'm shooting at an event and need to send photos to the people who are going to do the actual posting.
Got the JBH plate at Bimmerfest, there was a kiosk making them for $30, but you can buy custom ones online numerous different places.

You hit the nail on the head. Car shows and rallys are great spots to get experience taking photos. Always ask people what they honestly think about the photos when you show them and use it learn. Don't get discouraged if people aren't thrilled right away...its an art form and skill that can take years to develop. I have found that SmugMug is a great host for selling photos to people that you meet at events. Just get some cards printed with your unique URL, and people can log on and order prints, canvas wraps, etc and you end up with a little extra cash on the side.

Oh! Thanks! I'm probably going to post on Oppo when I have big updates, so I wouldn't go through the painful Yahoo account process for that. Eeks, no.
